Kronner Pneumatic Scope/Instrument Holder
for laparoscopic and other endoscopic surgery
The Kronner Low Profile Scope Holder is used to hold endoscopes such as laparoscopes during endoscopic surgery. It firmly holds the position of the scope and frees the operators' hands for other tasks.
The Holder attaches to the side rail of the operating table. It may be located on either side of the table and away from the operating area. A telescoping arm holds the endoscope. It the rare event it interferes with other instruments, it can quickly be positioned out of the way.
An electronic control is attached to the camera where it is readily accessible. Pressing a button on the control releases joints for quick position changes. This can be done with the hand used to move the scope. The position is held by gas pressure available in the operating room.
It is not necessary to loosen multiple joints in order to re-position the scope.
The Holder can be easily set up prior to the procedure. When needed, the scope is joined to the Holder.
During set up, the telescoping arm can be set to accommodate the range required for the procedure. The low profile design prevents interference with portable x-ray equipment or c-arms.
The versatile Holder can be used for laparoscopy, thorocoscopy, arthroscopic surgery, nasal surgery* and holding other manual surgical instruments*.
An electronic control box supplies gas from the hospital supply to the Holder through two flexible, disposable lines. The electronic circuit in the control box has safety features in the event problems arise.
The control, which mounts on the camera, is attached by a flexible line to this box. The control, line and connector are steam autoclavable for re-use.
Only some components must be sterilized and they can be steam autoclaved. The disposable gas lines are supplied sterile and are disposable. All components that require cleaning can be disassembled without tools.
All re-usable components are made to provide many years of service.
